I am a passionate silk painter. For over 15 years I have been drawing inspiration from our Colorado environment. Starting with white silk fabric I paint, dye and sew to create one of a kind art. I create silk scarves and change colors and patterns with the different seasons. I paint wall hangings and table coverings of Colorado flora. Each year I learn a new technique. Several years ago I studied Shibori, a Japanese method of creating patterns on fiber. More recently, fascinated with Nuno-Felting, I begin combining silk painting and felting using native Coloradan alpaca fibers to create unique shawls and jackets. I teach silk painting, Shibori, and Nuno-Felting at my studio in NoBo Art District at 4593 Broadway B101. I also offer studio time to advanced students. My art is available is many Front Ranges stores (listed on www.CarolSilks.com) and at my studio. Please contact me at CarolSilks@gmail.com or 303-579-8120 for further information.
