I am currently captivated with environmental, black and white photography. I am a biologist by training and am awe-struck with amazement and appreciation of the natural world. I am drawn to images that highlight nature's form and function, processes, and inter relational cycles. My images often have human elements for we are not separate but part of a dynamic universe. I am drawn to monochrome for the subtle nuance between the tonal variations and structure. My current work is rich in depth, texture, tones and sometimes moodiness. I like images that draw me into look again and again. I take photos in color and convert them to monochrome with Silver Efex Pro 2 software. This years focus of study is to photograph the Boulder Creek Basin from headwaters to confluence.
