Denise Susanne Townsend is an interdisciplinary artist who began her formal education in the arts in Florence, Italy in 2008 and completed her MFA at the San Francisco Art Institute in San Francisco, California in 2012.

Denise Susanne Townsend is an interdisciplinary artist who began her formal education in the arts in Florence, Italy in 2008 and completed her MFA at the San Francisco Art Institute in San Francisco, California in 2012. The agency of her art is deeply influenced by her practice of Zen, yoga and integrative healing, her work with plant medicines and mysticism in the Amazonian jungles and high Andean mountains of Peru as well as her encounters with exquisite places and people around the globe. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in the United States, Europe, and South America and is part of numerous private collections at home and abroad. Denise also holds a Masters Degree in Education in Creative Arts in Learning, has trained in the art and science of Western Medical Herbalism and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, and is visiting professor in the Contemplative Psychology Department at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. The synthesis of her passions is shared through her devotion to art, to the evolution of healing, and to the facilitation of international retreats in the heart of nature inspiring creativity, consciousness and the balance of being.
