After a career writing and editing books about art rather than making it, I’ve returned to the studio. What interests me right now is creating work that shifts between reality and abstraction. I like changes in scale and contrasts between clarity and blurriness, linearity and diffusion, flatness and dimensionality. Integrating collage elements with paint and other media helps me get to that “weirdness” quickly.
