Linda Lowry

I am primarily a painter in oils and acrylic. For the last six years I have been learning a variety of techniques in printmaking particularly monotype and monoprint. I also do mixed media. My latest piece in progress is a mixed media monoprint with chine colle' inspired by a writing class on "Narrative and the Self." This summer I will be painting and printing figurative narrative works. I am drawn to epic themes such as the Odyssey and stages of life in the Hindu tradition. I build my concepts off multicultural concepts and story telling. I also offer painting, drawing and mixed media workshops. Perhaps I will offer some workshops that use the press as I get more settled into my new studio.
