Lori has been a lifelong artist. Except for four years on the Big Island of Hawaii, she has lived her entire life in Boulder County. Her roots run deep; her great-great grandfather built a stage stop east of Lafayette on the Cherokee Trail. Lori's paintings depict the sensuality of light on everyday objects, and are rendered in oil with luscious colors in a crisp realistic style. "It seems to me there is a longing in most of us to connect to the natural world, those places that contrast remarkable with concrete, chaos and combustible engines. We can travel to them in person or in spirit, but no matter how we get there, these spectacular settings rarely fail to provide a calming elixir for the soul. In my paintings, I strive to capture that moment of real beauty. As you view them, I hope you are reminded of a special place that once gave you respite from our high-tech, fast-paced urban environment."
