Colorado is my home and playground. I'm outdoors in the mountains just about every week, and photography is my way of sharing and celebrating nature's beauty. I try to provide a unique perspective of what I see around me, by capturing the simple beauty of the shapes and textures around me. Though my “niche” is black and white fine art photography, of course I’m not adverse to color photography (including some of my favorite works). And besides Colorado landscapes, I am also drawn to abstract and non-traditional art (especially those images that depict the grittiness of urban life). My photographic background consists of a mixture of formal and informal studies. I've been heavily influenced by the black and white masters, as well as countless hours spent in the darkroom (both chemical and digital). My artwork has appeared in a number of juried art shows (both traditional and contemporary). For awards, I received first place in a Gallery 1505 photography exhibition, "Mayor's Choice" in a 40 West Arts Exhibition, and the "Fresh Vision" award in a recent Boulder County exhibition. I've also received numerous honorable mentions awards and have been reviewed very favorably in an online arts magazine. See my website if you are interested in acquiring fine art for your collection. I am also available to help new or aspiring artists learn more about creating fine art photographs.
