Sylvie Lam

I am an artist and therapist interested in harnessing creativity and self-expression as a pathway to healing and a vehicle for connection. Though I have been in love with color and paint since my early childhood, it is my more recent battle with chronic illness that inspired the birth of my Instagram project Inspirochete. Making art about living with Lyme Disease has helped me to process and share an experience that often feels impossible to verbalize. My hope is that my art will inspire others struggling with their mental or physical health to share their own stories and find ways to transmute their pain with creativity.
