It is my goal as an artist to encourage people to see magic of beauty in ordinary life. When we stand in front of a piece of art and look at it carefully, the sense of beauty comes to us and takes us away from the place where we happen to be. Or the same happens when we see a beautiful sunset or sunrise, or any other scenery, ocean, mountains, meadow and so on. Why is it? What people feel and how they feel when it happens? in antiquity there were two definitions of beauty which stood in opposition to one another, one describes beauty as the proper conformity of the parts to one another, and to the whole. The other, stemming from Plotinus, describes it, without any reference to parts, as the translucence of the eternal splendor of the One through the material phenomenon. I think that this connection to the eternal splendor of the One we feel when we encounter the beauty expressed through artistic creation. I only can hope that people who see my art will be touched by it in this special way, and that it will bring them a feeling of joy and sense of magic surrounding us.
