William L. (Bill) Border worked for many years as a freelance illustrator and designer in New York City and in Colorado doing both commercial and editorial art. Upon retirement, he has successfully devoted his time to drawing and oil painting. His paintings show fine attention to color, line, and form. His traditional representational art includes local mountain scenes, wildlife, and the human figure. His figurative abstractions portray birds and mammals capturing their essence on canvas. Locally his work is exhibited at the Denver Zoo and in Rocky Mountain National Park. In Boulder, his paintings have appeared in Open Studios, at Rembrandt Yard, and in other galleries. Nationally his work has been featured in galleries in California, Colorado, and Wyoming.
