Trained as a biologist, ecologist, and naturalist, the landscape's patterns, textures, light, and color have become imprinted in my mind over years of teaching and adventures in all weather and seasons while running rivers and hiking mountains and deserts. Now a painter, I explore these landscapes as "artistic ecosystems" - dynamically changing compositions made of interdependent values, hues, and edges defined by space and light energy. My joy and challenge is to interpret, capture, and communicate these beautiful moments and places while painting with pastels. I am currently a Co-President on the Board of the Pastel Society of Colorado. Previously, I served on the Board of the YWCA of Boulder County.
